Marlee, this is lovely. I am especially struck by your last line, “ So teach me, John, how to trust not in the sword but a throne.” I think that a lot of Christians, myself included, want to trust God’s promise to fight for us instead of trusting his authority and power as a whole. Overall, this is a beautiful, hugely impactful piece.
